Hilly Laine to Hanover
Argus—Adam Trimingham
15|12|07
BY POPULAR demand, this book, first produced in 199, has been reissued and updated. It shows how much the Hanover area of Brighton has changed in the past 150 years, especially since the Seventies. Once a working class neighbourhood with shops and pubs on nearly every corner, it is now trendy. But the friendly spirit of Hanover is still there. The book is stuffed full of fine photographs, many of them rare. It also contains memories of Hanover as it used to be, covering every aspect from almshouses to world wars. There is also an excellent and succinct endpiece by one of the authors, Derek Burns.
