First published in 1999, the edition of 2,000 copies quickly sold out. We have received a continuous stream of requests to reprint it, so here it is at last... the 2008 edition, redesigned with some new photographs and additional text.
Old Hanover has been recreated by listening to residents. They experienced a life of poverty and deprivation, but enjoyed a mutual support network. They were a close-knit interdependent community.
